Flapjacks

home made flapjacks

For my first post i thought i would try and entice you in with one of my favourite recipes.

really cheap, and very VERY tasty!

all you will need:

*A grease proof tray, or you could use a cake tin and have round flapjacks.
*6oZ    of butter
*6oZ    golden syrup
*6oZ    sugar  (white or brown is fine)
*12oZ  porridge oats
and a pinch of ginger

firstly get your butter in a pan and get it meting down.
then add your sugar and syrup, making sure to keep stirring until the sugar is dissolved.
when the mixture has come together and all the sugar is dissolved, add your ginger and finally the porridge oats.

mix it all together in the pan (take the pan off the heat first) and pre set your oven to 150 degrees or gas mark 2

finally add your mixture into your desired container and bake for 40 minutes

DO NOT OPEN THE OVEN DOOR!! be patient.

and thats that.  if you like really chewy flapjacks, just add more butter to the recipe.

why not try?

Melt chocolate and drizzle it over your flapjacks when they have just left the oven.
Or even a splash of vanilla in the recipe, for a really sweet taste.

enjoy x
